Fall-ing for Central Florida AgriTourism!

It’s fall y’all! This is my favorite time of the year. The weather is in the low 90’s, time to break out the sweaters, right? In all seriousness, the cooler weather makes for perfect weekend adventures with family and friends. What better way to spend the day than on a farm?
Corn mazes have been a huge craze over the past few years and are only growing larger. These crop mazes offer visitors a great way to visit local agriculture operations and get a taste of farm life.
Lucky for us in Central Florida, there are multiple different mazes that we can visit!
Harvest Holler in Polk City is open until November 11. Visitors say that you have to visit “MawMaw’s Country Store” when you finish the maze to get homemade jams, jellies, pies and more!
Fox Squirrel Corn Maze in Plant City is only open throughout the month of October, so make sure you mark your calendars to swing by. Use this as your chance to get to a pumpkin patch and see all the cattle on the ranch.
CornFusion is going on again at the Smith Family Ranch in Lakeland. With tractor rides and Zombie tours at night, you definitely don’t want to miss this years events!
Aside from those corn mazes listed above, check out the Central Florida Farm Tour! This is my favorite form of agritourism this fall. This tour offers you a look a farm and ranch life on an everyday basis. You can get close and personal with farmers and ranchers and ask any questions you have been pondering about. This is a self guided tour, so you can stay as long or as short as you would like at each stop. This years Farm Tour is on November 17th between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Tickets for this event is just $20 per vehicle! This is a great deal! Join in on the action, guys!
That wraps us up for this month. While you’re enjoying the cooler weather this season. I challenge each of you to spend at least one Saturday a month visiting a local agriculture operation and getting to meet with our farmers. I can assure you they enjoy it just as much as you!
Have a great time this month y’all, I can’t wait to see pictures! As always, while you’re out on your agritourism adventures, make sure you stop and Thank A Farmer!
