2014 PCFB Ag Tour Close Up

Polk County Farm Bureau, in collaboration with UF/IFAS Extension, held its biennial Ag Tour. This year’s event allowed attendees to learn about Florida agriculture from four distinctly unique and cutting-edge ag operations. The tour’s four stops included Phillip Rucks Citrus Nursery in Frostproof; Roosevelt Farms in Lake Wales; Five Star Family Growers Farm in Auburndale; and Maxi-Jet, Inc. in Dundee. In mid-December, the Polk County Farm Bureau held its Legislative Appreciation Luncheon at the W.H. Stuart Conference Center in Bartow. Attendees were able to enjoy a delicious meal and network with elected officials. Photos by JUSTIN RHEINER

PCFB Annual Meeting and Political Forum

In conjunction with the 70th Annual Membership Meeting on October 11, the Polk County Farm Bureau also held a Political Rally and Forum, where attendees could speak one-on-one with the candidates as well as hear them speak during dinner. Other highlights of the evening included awarding the Ag Teacher and Ag Program of the Year as well as recognizing two of Florida Farm Bureau\'s Cares program award recipients.
