The Polk County Farm Bureau officers and board of directors look forward to serving our members in the coming year.
Florida legislative committee weeks have begun, and the 2025 regular legislative session will convene on March 4. We wish to express our congratulations to Senator Ben Albritton for his election as President of the Florida Senate for the 2024-2026 Legislative Term. Farm Bureau Day in Tallahassee has been scheduled for March 18, 2025. Members can get regular updates throughout the session by registering to receive Florida Farm Bureau AgWatch bulletins via the Advocacy link at www.floridafarmbureau.org.
Students, don’t forget to submit your essays for the Polk Young Farmer and Rancher Committee Farm-City Week Essay Contest. The contest is open to 4-H and FFA students in 9th – 12th grades. This year’s essay topic is “How do farmers, distributors, retailers, scientists and consumers all play a vital role in making the American food supply possible?” The winner will receive recognition in our publications and a $100 Visa gift card! Applications are due by Friday, December 27 at 5 p.m. to saraht@pcfb.org. The 2025 Agri-Fest dates have been announced and the event will take place March 3 – 7 and March 10 – 14. We look forward to another great event educating Polk County fourth-graders about agriculture!
