Hello and Happy New Year from Polk County Farm Bureau. Our agriculture community has many exciting events coming up over the next few months.
The Polk County Youth Fair will take place at the Polk Agriculture Center in Bartow on January 24 – February 1. A schedule of daily events can be found at www.pcyf.net. We encourage you to visit the fair and support youth participants who have worked hard on their projects all year.
The Florida State Fair will run February 6 – 17. A preview of fair events can be found at www.floridastatefair.com.
The Florida Strawberry Festival will be held February 27 – March 9. You can find more information at www.flstrawberryfestival.com.
Polk County Agri-Fest will take place March 3 – 7 and March 10 – 14. We are seeking volunteers to help with another successful year as we host thousands of Polk fourth-grade students with interactive sessions on local agriculture commodity production. For more information or to sign up to volunteer, contact Sarah Waldman at saraht@pcfb.org.
The Central Florida Youth in Agriculture livestock show is scheduled for March 26 – 29 at the Polk Agriculture Center. More information on this event can be found on their Facebook page at www.facebook.com/CFYIAgriculture.
We are excited to share the Florida Farm Bureau theme for 2025: AG UP! Look for this theme throughout the year and at the Florida Farm Bureau Annual Meeting in October.
As a reminder, don’t forget to take advantage of your Farm Bureau membership benefits this year. One good way to start out the new year is with new work apparel or equipment.
