Commitment to the Future

Since its inception in 2010, Central Florida Ag News has been a staunch supporter of youth in ag. Even though we specifically designate this month as our “Youth in Ag” edition, we work throughout the entire year to highlight accomplishments and ongoing opportunities.

For example, our FFA Corner has been a longtime staple of our coverage. The department, which you can find on page 36 each month during the school year, is written by various Polk County FFA Federation officers and summarizes the latest events, accomplishments, and happenings of Polk FFA. It’s an important component of the close relationship we foster with the schools.

In addition, we’ve been happy to share the latest news from Bok North FFA reporter Kendall Farrar each month on page 34. Kendall does a spectacular job of highlighting her chapter’s involvement in the community, and we know her peers share her pride when they excitedly check out the latest articles.

We’d like to extend the invitation to other FFA chapters that may wish to submit monthly updates. If you’re a teacher or advisor who is interested, please reach out to Managing Editor Jess McDonald to learn more.

When each edition publishes, we donate more than 3,000 copies of Ag News to Polk County Public Schools for use by the local FFA teachers, advisors, and members. This is something we’re proud to do, as we know the students and teachers benefit greatly from incorporating our content in education plans.

Look for continuing coverage of school activities throughout the year, and stay up to date with the latest on our website in the FFA Corner department.

Our unwavering commitment to local youth in ag is part of who we are and our mission of highlighting the good going on in the agriculture community.

Thanks for reading Central Florida Ag News, and God bless.
