Farmer of the Year Jason Watts welcomed Florida Farm Bureau Federation and Polk County Farm Bureau staff and members to the family’s Florida Best Farms in Haines City on January 4. After lunch, the Watts family led attendees on a tour of the blueberry fields and packing house. They shared the newest technology that is being used in the blueberry industry to pack clamshells and showed a field where they test new varieties being bred by the University of Florida. It was a great opportunity to spotlight the family’s dedication to agriculture that earned them to the Farmer of the Year designation.
