As the summer winds down and a new school year begins, Bok North FFA has been busy jumping back into the rhythm of things. From welcoming baby goats to earning national recognition, our chapter has had a strong start to the 2025–2026 year as we work to Level Up the Blue and Gold Way.
Back-to-School Energy
This August, our members returned with fresh enthusiasm and a focus on getting back to basics. The land lab quickly came to life again as we reintroduced our goats, planted a new garden, and started building new projects. These efforts not only strengthen our agricultural program but also give our members valuable opportunities for hands-on leadership and responsibility.

Every project we take on—big or small—is a chance to “level up” our skills and our chapter’s impact.
A Strong Kickoff: First Chapter Meeting
We also held our first chapter meeting of the year, where our officer team proudly performed the traditional Opening Ceremonies to set the tone for the months ahead. Members discussed upcoming events, shared ideas, and enjoyed a dinner of walking tacos together.
The night ended with games to build bonds between old and new members, showing how FFA blends tradition, teamwork, and fun. It was the perfect start to a year where we’re committed to leveling up our leadership and chapter unity.
Bok Tower Industry Tour
One of the month’s biggest highlights was our Foundations class industry tour to Bok Tower Gardens. Students had the chance to learn directly from horticulture professionals about what it takes to maintain a thriving garden. Mr. Taylor guided us through practical lessons, and the Bok Tower staff created an unforgettable experience.
From tasting handmade herbal teas to crafting fragrant herb baggies, members left with both new knowledge and new inspiration—another way we’re leveling up our learning beyond the classroom.

A Growing Goat Family
Excitement also bloomed in the land lab with the arrival of four new baby goats. Three boys and one little girl—affectionately named Mini Pearl—joined the herd. With many of our goats still expecting, our chapter is preparing for what we like to call a “goat daycare.”
Caring for animals teaches us responsibility, record-keeping, and agricultural skills—real-life lessons that help members level up as leaders and caretakers.
National Recognition: A 3-Star Chapter
Spotlight Achievement
This summer, Bok North FFA was honored with the 3-Star National Chapter Award, the highest ranking an FFA chapter can achieve. Only about 10% of chapters nationwide earn this recognition, placing Bok North among the very best in the country.
Even more exciting, Bok North was named a Premier Chapter Finalist in the Growing Leaders Division. Out of thousands of FFA chapters across the nation, only 10 chapters were selected as finalists for this award—and we are proud to be one of them.
These awards are proof that when we work hard, support one another, and stay true to our mission, we can level up nationally—The Blue and Gold Way.
Building on Summer Success
August was also about continuing the momentum from our summer projects. Our pollinator garden initiative, which boosted tomato and pepper production at the land lab, is still flourishing. Students remain engaged in Literacy Allies mentoring, where 78% of elementary readers showed improvement last year—a testament to the leadership and service values we carry into every activity.
With agribusiness tours scheduled, hands-on opportunities lined up, and competitions just around the corner, our members are prepared to level up in every area of FFA this fall.
Looking Ahead
Overall, August has set the tone for what promises to be an incredible year. With strong member involvement, new projects, and national recognition fueling our momentum, Bok North FFA is ready to make 2025–2026 a year of growth, service, and success.
We are proud of our start, and we can’t wait to see how we continue to Level Up: The Blue and Gold Way.
