Tenoroc FFA: Leading Agriculture Forward With Innovation, Compassion & Community

The Tenoroc High School FFA Chapter continues to redefine what agricultural education can be. Rooted in leadership, hands-on learning, and service, this program provides real-world experiences that prepare students for competitive careers in agriculture and beyond.

As the 2025–2026 season continues, Tenoroc FFA is gearing up for an exciting lineup of competitions and events — including the Polk County Youth Fair, Florida State Fair, and Central Florida Youth in Agriculture. This year marks a significant milestone: Tenoroc will exhibit alpacas for the very first time, expanding student involvement in unique livestock sectors and showcasing their growing expertise.

Career Skills With a Heart: Doggy Daycare at Tenoroc

One of the chapter’s most innovative achievements is its Doggy Daycare program, created through the Veterinary Assisting curriculum. Designed to give students meaningful clinical and workplace skills, the daycare serves Tenoroc staff pets by offering:

  • Basic health checks
  • Grooming services
  • Daily enrichment and play

This program functions as a School-Based Enterprise SAE, ensuring every student has access to hands-on experience that builds confidence, responsibility, workforce readiness, and leadership.

This year, the program has also launched a brand-new partnership with Polk County Bully Project, welcoming shelter dogs on campus. Students help provide care and socialization — while giving rescue dogs greater visibility and a much-improved chance at adoption. It’s agriculture education with compassion in action.

Growing Skills From the Show Ring to the Greenhouse

Livestock involvement remains a cornerstone of Tenoroc FFA’s identity. Students currently train and exhibit Alpacas, Goats, Rabbits, Chickens, and Hogs.

Through daily care and competition, members develop critical knowledge in animal science — along with soft skills such as public speaking, teamwork, and perseverance.

For students drawn to plant science pathways, the greenhouse program allows members to cultivate, manage, and market plants while gaining advanced horticulture experience. Whether working with seedlings or show animals, each Supervised Agricultural Experience (SAE) fosters agricultural literacy and builds confidence in future careers.

Students Today, Industry Leaders Tomorrow

Tenoroc FFA continues to grow stronger each year — expanding partnerships, developing leadership, and promoting agricultural excellence throughout the community. The chapter’s achievements reflect FFA’s mission in action: Premier Leadership. Personal Growth. Career Success.

With their passion, dedication, and innovation leading the way, the future of agriculture is in good hands at Tenoroc High School.
