If you are a city water customer, you may be eligible for a free landscape and irrigation system evaluation to help you conserve water. The cities of Lakeland, Winter Haven, Haines City, Auburndale, and Polk City are offering the free evaluation in conjunction with the Southwest Florida Water Management District and Polk County Utilities. Customers who use reclaimed or drinking water to irrigate, and who run an in-ground irrigation system with a timer, can receive the free evaluation.
Program participants receive a complete irrigation system evaluation, along with a recommendation about how to improve their system so it will work more efficiently. Also included is installation of a rain sensor, if one does not exist or is not operating properly, and a conservation kit with an automatic shutoff watering nozzle.
