During the months of November and December, our state goes through one of its most dramatic weather pattern shifts of the year. The rainy season comes to a close and the outdoor temperature usually drops below 85 degrees on most days. Your watering schedule and the application of controls and fertilizers must be adjusted according to the changing conditions. It’s important to assess your situation in order to optimize the look of your lawn and garden.
Now is definitely the time to spray for broadleaf weed control. During rainy season, much of the fertilizer or herbicide applied to help your grass and/or ornamentals tends wash out and dilute, thus rendering them ineffective. With the decrease in rain, you can now see some real benefit to applying this much-needed boost for your outdoor areas. Take advantage of the mild temperatures and get your lawn and garden on track.
The old adage that says “Timing is everything” is absolutely true. If you wait too long to act, it is usually much too late to recover. So, there’s no time like the present to protect your outdoor investment and keep it looking great all winter long.
