She also will present her winning speech to the Polk County Farm Bureau membership at the PCFB Annual Meeting on October 6.
PRESENTERS AT THE 2015 Polk County Farm Bureau Youth Speech Contest had a tall order to fill this year. High school students were asked to present on the following topic: “How Does Florida’s Right to Farm Act Help Farmers and Ranchers When Their Rights Are Challenged?”
After months of research, preparation, and practice, seven local youth gave presentations to a well-informed audience on September 1. I’d like to take a moment to recognize all the participants for their hard work. It takes a lot of courage to stand up in front of a crowd and share an important message through the discipline of public speaking. Each of you should be proud of your endeavor, and I encourage you to keep going, and present again next year if you are able!
To the winner, Kathleen High School senior Lacee Richardson, and the runners-up, Amelia Parsons of Ridge Community High School and Taylor Ladd of Auburndale High School — congratulations, and job well done!
