THIS MONTH marks Adams Cold Storage’s fifth year of business in the cold storage and distribution industry. We have many to thank for our success and are humbled by the tangible support afforded us by our customers, vendors, and contractors. We have also been greatly bolstered in our efforts by many of you readers — and we say a huge “Thanks!” for the words of encouragement, wisdom, and good advice through the years.
Following an extensive facility rehabilitation effort in 2010, the ACS facility in Auburndale has gone from being literally empty on the day we opened in December 2010 to maximum capacity — plus — with product. Our first inbound product was frozen lemon concentrate from South Africa — and now we house hundreds upon hundreds of food items. The ACS team has grown from five to 40. The ACS customer list has expanded from one to more than 150.
Our mission to be a leader in food defense and food safety continues, and we remain committed to serving our customers as one of the finest 3PLs in the state of Florida. Within weeks, we will break ground on a state-of-the-art, fully automated, high-cube freezer, which will expand our capacity by some 40 percent.
A special thanks goes out to the first responders and law enforcement officers of Polk County and the city of Auburndale. You help us fulfill our mission on a daily basis. And we sincerely appreciate the thousands of truck drivers who have graced our docks with professionalism and quality products these past five years.
However, my deepest thanks go to the ACS Team. Through hard work, dedication, and sacrifice — with minimal blood, sweat, and tears — you have achieved nearly perfect order-fulfillment performance. Your results rank among the elite in the country, and you should be proud! I know I am — as are your families.
