- Private Row Crop Applicator Pesticide Prep. Training / June 25 / 8:30 a.m.- 1 p.m.
This training is designed to help agricultural professionals prepare for Florida’s pesticide license exam. Participants will receive instruction on pesticide safety, regulations, application practices, and other topics on the test. The training will be held at the UF/IFAS Polk Extension Office at 1702 South Holland Parkway in Bartow. - Mosquito Bite Prevention Workshop / June 25 / 11 a.m.-12 p.m.
Learn how to protect against mosquito bites, compare and try different protection products, and even get repellent at this free one-hour session to be held at the UF/IFAS Extension Office Stuart Center in Bartow. - Pollinators and Their Havens DIY Workshop / June 26 / 10-11 a.m.
Discover the important role pollinators play in supporting healthy ecosystems while learning practical ways to attract and protect them at home. This free workshop includes creating a DIY mini pollinator house and exploring how simple habitat improvements can help bees, butterflies, and other beneficial pollinators thrive. The event will be held at Lakeland Electric, 501 East Lemon Street, Lakeland. - Growing Caladiums in the Home Landscape / June 30 / 10 a.m-11 a.m.
Learn how to grow vibrant, colorful caladiums in your home landscape during this free educational workshop to be held at Lakeland Public Library at 100 Lake Morton Drive in Lakeland. Explore planting, care, and maintenance techniques along with tips for selecting varieties that thrive in Florida’s climate.
