BETWEEN THE FAIRS and festivals, as well as the trade shows, educational courses, meetings, and more, we wanted to do an expanded calendar for this edition to give you a better snapshot of all that’s happening in your ag community. However, there’s only so much you can fit on a page. If you’re an ag lover like us (and you’re reading this, so it’s very likely that you are), there’s only one place that I know of where you can go to find out information about every agri-event — in every aspect of Florida agriculture — happening in our region … and that’s at www.FloridaAgNews.com.
Check out PAGE 32 for the Calendar of Events in the print edition of Central Florida Ag News, but don’t forget that there is a smorgasbord of upcoming events that you’ll want to know about, and they’re all in one convenient place on our website.
Here’s a quick snapshot of some more agri-events coming up soon that you will not want to miss:
• March 16-17 and March 20-21 — Hydroponics Short Course, offered by the UF/IFAS Extension near Live Oak.
• March 12 — Polk County Farm Bureau Ag Deputy Luncheon, from 11:30a.m. to 1 p.m. at the W.H. Stuart Conference Center in Bartow.
• April 6-10 and April 13-17 — Polk County Agri-Fest, from 9 a.m. to Noon daily for Polk County fourth-graders at the UF/IFAS Polk County Extension Office in Bartow.
• April 21 – Ag Literacy Day
Do you have an agriculture event that you’d like to get published on our online calendar? Perhaps a 4-H club meeting, an FFA fundraiser, or a new farmers’ market? Then send me your event information, and we’ll make sure to share it with our readers on the AgriCalendar at www.FloridaAgNews.com.
