DID YOU KNOW that nearly half of the charitable giving in Florida takes place between Thanksgiving and Christmas? Ever make a donation to a charitable contribution and wonder what that donation is used for?
The Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services has compiled a Gift Givers’ Guide, which allows you to look up detailed information about the charities registered in Florida, as well as how they spend their funds. This way, you can know exactly what your gift is going toward and how it’s helping our communities.
The Gift Givers’ Guide is easy to use: Just enter the charity or business name — or the license/registration number, if you have it — and the search results will show you the charity’s revenue, expenses, surplus/deficit, and more.
At a time when we all want to do our part and give back to our community, it’s good to know that we can use this resource and give with confidence.
