This time of year, I’m usually oohing and aahing over the fall festivals that are popping up around Central Florida. (I’ll still be stalking the festivals, just not writing another column on them! But make sure to watch for next month’s edition, which will offer a sneak peek of Golden Ridge Groves!)

I’d be remiss if I failed to mention the many educational and networking opportunities opening up in the coming months that you won’t want to miss. Below is a sampling of what’s coming up. 

Polk Landowner Expo

Hosted by UF/IFAS Polk County, this one-day event is for agricultural landowners big and small who want to explore ways to keep their land in production and sway the tide of development. You can expect presentations, panel discussions, interactive breakout sessions, and even lunch. Topics will include easements, mitigation, and cost share.

Polk County 4-H Open Horse Show

Native Plants for your Central Florida Yard

The Polk Extension is teaming up with the City of Lakeland Water Utilities at Lakeland Electric to teach you how to use native Florida plants in your Florida-friendly garden. Let It Grow Garden Festival and Plant Sale

November 15 

9 a.m.-3 p.m.

4509 George Blvd., SebringThis is always a popular event, and this year promises to be no different. (Check out our article on last year’s event at https://centralfloridaagnews.com/garden-festival-to-bloom-on-november-16/) This year, there will be more than 100 vendors, music, food, a silent auction, and raffle.
