Post-Freeze Recovery Webinar for Blueberry Growers Set for Feb. 10

GROWER WEBINAR ON POST STORM RECOVERY

TUESDAY, FEB. 10 From 9-11 a.m.

In response to the recent winter storm and freeze events impacting blueberry production, the Florida Blueberry Growers Association, in partnership with University of Florida IFAS, the UF Blueberry Breeding Program, and UF Blueberry Extension, will host a grower webinar scheduled for Tuesday, February 10th 9a-11am.

This timely webinar will provide critical updates and guidance for growers as they assess crop damage, manage post-freeze disease concerns, and prepare for potential federal and state assistance programs.

  • Post-Freeze Event Disease Issues – Phil Harmon, UF/IFAS
  • Update on Possible Disaster Recovery Funding – Alyssa Houtby, North American Blueberry Council (NABC)
  • Crop Insurance Considerations – Regina Thomas, Farm Credit and Bryan McQuary USDA RMA
    This session is designed to help growers navigate next steps following the freeze, understand available resources, and prepare for recovery moving forward.
